(Statewide Announcement) Utah Child Protection Registry

The Utah Child Protection Registry was created on the idea that, just as millions of Americans have the choice to protect their home phone numbers from solicitors, they should also have the choice to protect their families from unwanted, adult-oriented advertisements.

Modeled after the National Do Not Call Registry, Utah established laws to protect e-mail addresses, mobile phone numbers (SMS), instant messenger IDs, and fax numbers from adult-oriented solicitations. These solicitations may include, but are not necessarily limited to: illegal drugs, alcohol, tobacco, pornography, and gambling. And like the do-not-call list, when you register your family addresses, you are removing your contact information from adult-oriented company and marketing solicitation lists. November 4th 2008

Today we voted! This is the first year I've ever voted and I'm glad I'm able to be part of this historic day. We were getting ready to go when I told Sienna that we were going to go vote. She disappeared for awhile and came back with her swimsuit on...she thought we were going to go on a boat.

Later today we went to my work for the Sea World exhibit. They had a reindeer, a lemur, a porcupine, a chinchilla and some beautiful bird that makes a very cool sound. Sienna was so excited to see Rudolph, however, this reindeer's name is Oliver "Oliver the other reindeer."

She got to pet the chinchilla and the lemur, the reindeer wasn't too interested in all the kids, go figure.

Field Trip

Sienna had another field trip today. We went to the Tee Pee (pumpkin patch) to learn about Thanksgiving. It was so fun, it reminds me how much I loved school, well, the fun parts anyways. Miss Jessica taught the kids what a tee pee was used for, how the chief Indian wore a headdress and also how to dance and make the "ah-ba-ba-ba" sound that we've all been taught Indians make.

We read a story about the first Thanksgiving. Miss Jessica also showed the kids when you open a dried gourd the seeds can be replanted to grow food. I was also impressed how she cut the gourd to be a spoon! Those Indians are so smart :)
At the end the kids were allowed to take home any pumpkin they wanted. The catch was they had to be able to carry it by themselves! To see a three-year -old try to pick up a 50 lb pumpkin by themselves is super cute. Sienna found a perfect pumpkin that she is very proud of and it's sitting on our kitchen table.
I need to get some Thanksgiving books for the girls. It's so easy to forget how important this holiday is to our culture. I hope everyone can find a new fact about Thanksgiving that they never knew about before. When I find one, I will enlighten everyone!

Dinner with the Andersons

Tonight we had a wonderful family come over for dinner. Nick works with Derek Anderson at Sunrise and we've been trying to get together for awhile now! His lovely wife Jenilyn is super easy to talk to and I feel like we have a lot in common. Sienna and Bria got along so well we didn't really have to intervene with their playtime. Marseille just followed along but mostly stayed where the food was located. Eric is such a happy little man, he has so much love in his eyes and is such a doll. I feel very lucky that our families get to know each other. It's so nice to meet new people who are easy to be around.

We're very happy they came over for dinner. It would have been just another Saturday night without great pie. Thank you Anderson family!!!

Halloween 2008

Halloween was wonderful! I'm so glad it was great weather. Our friends Jamie and Don from next door stopped by on their way out with their kids Ashton and Ella (Sienna's best friend) and Jamie's sister and nephew and we just ended up trick-or-treating with them the whole night.
Marseille was ready to go! The first house she got her favorite candy SUCKERS and sat down on the side walk and wasn't interested in anything else. She dug inside her bucket and went to town. She was so sticky all night if she grabbed the stroller she stuck to it.
Sienna had a blast too. Only she went inside every house to either say "hi" or to pet their dog or cat. That's definitely something we need to work on.
We ended the night at my mom's house. Sienna passed out on the couch and Marseille was still digging in the candy bucket. It was a great Halloween and we're excited for more holidays to come.

Oh my goodness!

Well I can't believe it! We're having a boy. We couldn't be happier. This is the last baby so it worked out wonderfully. Now we need to think of a name. Hmmm, any good ideas out there? Nick says "Stockholm" is out of the question. Oh well...

Wow it's been awhile!

I haven't posted for a long time! Well, it's time to catch you up :) We're now expecting #3. I'm due March 26th 2009. We'll find out the sex on October 28th and I'm sure we'll be emailing everyone. I'm hoping for another girl. I know, I know, I already have two but I love them so much I couldn't imagine having anything else. A boy would be great too, it would be something new and Nick wouldn't be the only male in the house. Whatever the baby is going to be we'll be happy.

Halloween is fast approaching. Sienna is super excited! Marseille and Sienna are going to be matching pirates ~ AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH.

Sienna started preschool in September. She goes twice a week for two hours a day. She loves it! Sometimes she can't hold all that excitement and just want's to run around and play. FOCUS little girl, just kidding. Her teachers say she's finally getting a hold on all that energy.

Marseille is growing up so fast! I can't believe what a little girly girl she's turning into. She already plays dolls with Sienna. She dresses up in princess dresses and will put on accessories all by herself. She even twirls like a pro!

Nick will be graduating in MAY 2009. Yippee! No more school, at least for awhile.

We're trying to sell our house. We need more space but are in no rush. We love this house so much it'll be sad when we leave.

Family Update

Sienna is almost completely potty trained!!! She wakes up from her naps dry and goes straight to the potty. We even go to the store wearing panties and she does great. She's so proud that she doesn't have to wear a diaper anymore like her baby sister.
Marseille is such a giggler!! She loves to be tickled and she laughs so hard it's contagious. She loves to roll around in her walker, she now knows how to make it all the way into the living room and watch t.v.
